To the people who are supporting NQAPIA:
Thank you for your ongoing support and understanding to NQAPIA. I am also a supporter of NQAPIA as the mother of a gay daughter and someone who provides support to Asian communities, especially parents of LGBTQ children.
This June, we will have “family acceptance” workshops in Japan. Two years ago when we went there for the first time, many participants told us that that was their first time hearing parents’ side of the story and that there were many elements I learned as they found more similarities than differences between the US and Japan. This time, we will conduct workshops in Nagoya and Sapporo a well.
Due to various reasons, raising visibility of LGBTQ people has proven difficult in Japan. We hope our workshops will stimulate people in smaller cities. Making Japan more LGBTQ friendly will benefit my daughter who has the Japanese passport as she will be able to bring her wife with her to visit her home country with the sense of safety. Making the world a safer place not only my child but also for every LGBTQ person is my utmost wish. I will start the work from the US and Japan.
I would like you to understand the importance of this program and render your support.
