We don’t believe in fate but we knew we would be life partners. We’re two gay Pinoys who found love, strength, and purpose in each other - subverting expectation in a “no fats no fems no Asians” dominated culture. Against the odds, we found a love, a synergy, so uniquely fierce and boundless. Yet immigration status threatened to force us into the shadows. We were counting the days past a lapsed visa instead of counting our dreams when we found NQAPIA.

We give to NQAPIA because their legal referral program matched us with an immigration lawyer who was empathetic to our story of being a multinational gay Pinoy couple. We give to NQAPIA because they had long been proponents of comprehensive immigration reform before our own story even began. We give to NQAPIA because in addition to the logistical and moral support they afforded us, they continue to fight for the rights of QTAPI in an increasingly hostile political climate.

Will you give to NQAPIA to protect another love story and support their work lobbying for the Reuniting Families Act and a just family-based immigration system?

NQAPIA for us is a source of pride - that “deeper love” pride Aretha sang about. Pride that we belong to an affirming and inclusive community that works to empower those of us that are pushed into the margins. Pride that there exists a strong dissenting voice in this time of blatant bigotry. Pride that we can be our truest selves and that we are more than enough. In the spirit of deeper love and pride, will you join us in supporting NQAPIA?
